Red Rye is brewed using Rye Pale malt and Rye crystal malt and has a reddish hue and distinct ‘bread crust’ flavour notes. It is hopped with a new American variety of hop called El Dorado which has a soft fruit character. We have added a touch of caraway to enhance the rye experience.
This was our first collaborative beer of 2013. We teamed up with American brewer Steve Schmidt, who has won many awards for his beers over the last 20 years. He had spent 3 years as Head Brewer at Meantime in Greenwich but has now returned to the States to start his own brewery.
A single brew will be available in cask (5.8% ABV) from March whilst stock lasts.
